 'Five Minutes Flat' was awarded the 'Best Action Sequence Martial Arts Short' at the Action On International Film Festival 2009 in Pasadena, California! 

 

Arranged/Produced performance track of "Come Rain or Come Shine" for 2009 Miss RI Juliana Strout . She will be performing it at the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas this January.

 

Arranging/producing new CD for singer cabaret/jazz singer Linda Calise.

May - June 2009


Scored the opening theme to "Durham County" ; the new original scripted prime time series premiering this Fall to U.S. audiences on ION Television starring Hugh Dillon, of CBS' "Flashpoint".

 "Durham County," an eerie combination of suspense and family drama, marks the first original prime time series to premiere on ION Television.  The series has received 13 Gemini Award nominations, including five wins: Best Actor for Justin Louis, Best Actress for Hlne Joy, Best Direction for Holly Dale, Best Writing for Laurie Finstad-Knizhnik and Best Sound. In addition, the show was nominated for four Director's Guild of Canada Awards, winning two and taking home the CFTPA's Indie Award for "Best Dramatic Series."

The program was also recognized with nominations from the Writer's Guild of Canada and ACTRA Montreal.

 

Scored scenes from the upcoming film "La Chimica dei Sentimenti", which translates to "The Chemistry of Feelings", and Italian docu-fiction which shows in an oftentimes humorous way the effects that love can have on an individual. Soon to be shown on National Italian Television networks.

 

Scored the indy short film "Five Minutes Flat", by Nathan Quatrinni. Lots of exciting martial arts!

 

Produced and arranged "Sugar Time" for songwriter Elaine Cronin. Look for Bonnie Raitt to cover this one!

Gave clinics at Berklee College of Music as a "Visiting Artist Lecturer". The clinics discussed the challenges and insights on being an independent music composer and producer; the technology used in today's productions, and discussions on the day to day business skills required.

Scored original music for a short film produced by Inventive Productions, Inc  for Butler Hospital in Providence, RI. The film highlights the tremendous progress made at the hospital in brain research and mental healthcare.

Joe recently received the honor of being named WINNER (along with co-writer John DeBortoli) by the Song of the Year ( http://www.songoftheyear.com/ ) songwriting contest in the Dance/Electronica category. The song is entitled "Boy Watcher".Song of the Year is an international songwriting contest supporting VH-1’s Save the Music Foundation. The Song of the Year judges are some of the biggest names in music including many Grammy Award winners.

Song of the Year is excited to recognize that Joe and John competed against songwriters from all over the world for this honor.

 

 

Composed music/sound design for another Comcast Sportsnet Boston Celtics Image/Branding campaign

Spot was produced by Ivy Creative, Natick, MA. 

 

Produced orchestral backing for Francesca Simone, Miss RI 2008. The piece was "Nessun Dorma" by Puccinni, to be performed by Francesca at the 2009 Miss America Pageant. Francesca was a Finalist for the Quality of Life Award. Quality of Life Awards were introduced in 1988 to recognize contestants who excel in their commitment to community service. Francesca's personal platform is "F.A.C.T. - Families of Alzheimers Carrying the Torch". Congrats Francesca!

 

Produced vocal tracks for RDS jingle package. Born in Rome in the 1978, RDS (abbbreviation of Radio Dimensione Suono) is an Italian national radio station that broadcasts Pop music and Italian music.

Composed music for Lyn Dillies' latest illusion to be premiered September 13th.

Known as America's Premiere Female Illusionist, she is only one of two working female illusionists in a field dominated by men.      Inspired by the 2008 Presidential Election and the possibility that, for the first time, a woman could actually go all the way to the White House, not to mention many other first-time possibilities, Lyn decided to craft an election year themed illusion with the message: You don’t have to be a magician to create change; get out and vote!      And, since this new illusion needed a showcase in order to properly present it to the public, the Your Vote is Magic public service campaign was created!      The public service campaign also acts as a reminder for local eligible voters to register and vote; especially for the upcoming presidential election primary in September and the general election in November.

Scored music for a 6 minute short film produced by Tango Pix in Providence, RI entitled "Mission 2010", a proprietary corporate video for APC.   

 

Composed music for product launch of "Evolve", a new software library created by the folks at Heavyocity.com—specifically designed to meet the needs of today's cutting edge film and television composer/sound designers. Score is entitled "Spydaman Evolves". 

 

Scored music for :30 second tv commercial— "MyPhillyLawyer.com" . Creative director Steve Ratner from Ivy Creative in Natick, MA produced the spot.

Joe co-wrote the song “If You Were Mine”, the lead off single from the debut album “C About Me”by pop/r&b singer Marcos Hernandez. The single reached the Billboard top 20 here in the USA. The album was an international smash reaching GOLD status in South Africa, including reaching #1 on SA Hot 100. It was also a big radio hit in Japan as well as France and the UK. The song was also featured on the CBS/Paramount network’s show “South Beach” produced by Jennifer Lopez.

Award winning director and producer Dan Rosario brought Joe on board to score his film “Affected”. The film is designed to target kids who at “at risk” for involvement with inner city gangs.

Ivy Creative from Natick, MA and Evolution Marketing  & Advertising from Boston, MA have contracted Joe to do some radio and television spots for Southbridge Savings Bank.

First time director/writer Will Berthaud commissioned Joe to score the trailer for his upcoming movie “Underground”.

Joe recently lectured at Berklee College of Music. The lectures were designed to demonstrate contemporary trends in writing and production with an emphasis on versatility and usage of cutting edge technologies.

Joe recently composed and produced new orchestral music for the opening segment to the “Magic of Lyn”, America’s Premiere female illusionist. She appeared at the most prestigious place a magician can perform, The Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA this past June, to rave reviews. Check out the music in the audio player.

Singing sensation Kelley Lennon is currently in the studio working on a CD of classic standards with some new twists. Look for the release sometime in early spring of this year.

Joe traveled to the famous Capitol Records recording studio to arrange 4 songs for a 35 piece big band with strings for renowned vocalist John Pagano. John is a featured vocalist in music icon Burt Bacharach's band. John also appears in the Adam Sandler film "Click", appearing and singing in a pivotal wedding scene. The film opened nationwide on 23 June 2006. John’s album containing Joe’s arrangements will be released and in stores sometime soon.

“Now That I Love You”, the lead off single the debut album of David Corey has had over 100,000 internet plays to date! Joe co-wrote and produced 6 of the 9 songs from the CD.

Eliot Sloan, David Corey and Joe teamed up once again to write and produce 8 songs for new R&B/adult contemporary artist D. Christopher. The CD was released on Jimmy Buffet’s label “Toucan Cove” and distributed by Universal Records. In stores now!

“Stay The Same”, the Billboard Top Ten hit and international smash co-written and produced by Joe for Joey McIntyre’s debut solo album back in 1999 is still being used internationally in various TV and radio formats! In fact, quite a few of the songs Joe co-wrote and produced are currently in use around the world.

“Way That I Loved You”, co-written and produced by Joe for Joey McIntyre was used in Season 3 of “American Idol”!

“Little Ones”, a country song Joe co-wrote with his cousin Matt Bernier is currently getting airplay in the Nashville area. Look for this hit to explode soon!

Joe just finished arranging and producing a Christmas/Holiday CD for Las Vegas entertainer Ronnie Rose. The stylizations vary from big band with strings to a more contemporary “smooth jazz” sound, to good old fashioned blues. Ronnie’s versatility as a singer is what makes him so unique, so Joe and Ronnie wanted to capitalize on that strength. Look for a CD sure to please everybody! In stores and available for download now.

Joe has teamed up with songwriter “Debo” to co-write and produce new songs. Several are under consideration by major artists/labels.

Joe received an International CINE GOLDEN EAGLE AWARD for his orchestral score to the film “Love One Another”, written and directed by Don Hart.
